I usually add a jar of marmalade and some ground coriander to try and get a hoogarden like taste. This kit really repays a long period in the bottle so if you are lucky enough to inherit dozens of empty old sam smith bottles (thanks, Alan) several batches stashed away and forgotten about will give good results. Written By: Clive Dickson (29 July 2010) Its not as good as proper Wheat Beer, but my beer loving German girlfriend really liked it, so that is a good sign. We liked it so much we are making it again soon. Probably better made with sugar rather than spray malt, but we will see. 4/5 because real wheat beer is better, but this is a good home brew! Written By: Chris Parker (18 July 2010) Easy to follow kit, I used the youngs specialist sugar, followed instructions and ended up with a nice cloudy beer, nice head, tastes like youd expect a wheatbeer to taste. The taste is not too strong, maybe described as bland, but a nice drink after a hard days work, serve cold in an ice cold glass. I have allready ordered more, I will try it next time with regular sugar, but intend to experiment with spray malts with this kit in the future. Nothing bad to say about it, Recommended! I am looking forward to drinking this lot and getting started with the next! Great results! 1st taste after 12 days conditioning is very good, i imagine it would improve if it conditioned for a few weeks, I will keep a few aside to see. 10/10 very pleased!!!! Written By: Iain Kirk (09 April 2009) Not vet impressed as yet. been in bottles for about 2 months and it does not look like wheat beer, it does taste OK, however more like a pilsner lager. Written By: Kenny Allison (06 January 2009) Very good looking, excellent head/condition, nice golden colour. Lovely aroma and smooth taste. Written By: Craig Lockley (16 July 2008)
