Ritchies range are essentially unbranded beer kits. This means you get a good quality beer without paying for the brand.
This is a traditional Scottish export with a slightly higher alchohol content and a less hoppy flavour than an English bitter.

[Read All Reviews] [Add Your Review] brewed a couple of these wanted a strong one having been used to carlberg special brew they turn out to be about 6.5% abv which is good- taste good would recomend to anyone -give it a go Written By: Philip Jones (23 February 2010) This was a superb beer, bottled and left for the bare minimal of time - brewed using 1 kg of brewing sugar and 500gm of medium spraymalt. I would recommend this beer highly. Written By: Ingram Blakelock (31 July 2009) This was my first time brewing and was a bit of a crash course. I brewed this kit with 1Kg of sugar and 500g of dark malt, Instead of doing the normal 25ltr, I used 20ltr.
The results a loverly 80+/-
OG- 1040 FG - 1005
Recommended for cash strapped students :)
If I did this again I would replace all the sugar with malt, as it doesn't have as much body as I normally like, I would also use less sugar in priming. Written By: Andrew Paliwoda (30 June 2008) Really fine heavy- easy to make and fast to clear. I, too prefer it with malt but it's still very passable made with sugar.
Quality!! Written By: Keith Mackessack (21 November 2006) I've used this kit twice - 1st time I used brewing sugar and the 2nd time I used a Medium Malt. I would definetely recommend brewing this using Malt instead of sugar. It's a nice kit away but the Malt really improves the flavour. I always use pressure barrels and after a month maturing this is a very nice smooth beer with a nice taste and deceptively strong! Written By: Andrew Kennedy (15 October 2006)
