I wanted more of a rich dry guinness taste so used 500g 'extra dark' spraymalt and 500g molasses. I bottled it yesterday and had my 'usual' taste and it is tasting how i imagined - bloody good. Call me optimistic but i'm giving it 5 this early on!

I brewed this using brewing sugar.stout 36 days old, head now
perfect stays right to bottom of glass,taste like beamish stout
but at a better price.will buy again

I AM ON MY THIRD BREW OF IRISH VELVET DARK STOUT AND SO FAR IT HAS BEEN A WINNER IN HEAD, FLAVOUR, AND VFM.JUST FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND IT BREWED REALLY WELL.

this is my no: two lot coz the first lot was very very good. i brewed it just with
sugar and water. and it turn out good 5 to 7 days and bottle it .lot it for few week and it was very nice drink

I brewed this using dark spraymalt and cane sugar. I bottled half the batch then added 250g lactose to the remainder to make milk stout. I added creamy top before bottling. The result is a fabulous rich dark stout, very like Beamish with Guinessy type coffee and burnt malt aftertaste. A good head on it too, lasts to the bottom of the glass and clings like it should. Highly recommended.
